Three measurements matter most when sizing a cargo trailer: deck length (front-to-rear cargo floor), interior height (floor to ceiling), and door opening width and height (the bottleneck for what you can load). A 7x14 cargo trailer with 6 foot 6 inch interior height fits a standard pallet or motorcycle but cuts close on full-size ATVs. A 7x14 with 7 foot interior height handles full-size ATVs and most furniture without ceiling clearance issues.
V-nose front vs flat front: V-nose adds 18 to 24 inches of usable interior length, improves aerodynamics (modest fuel savings on long hauls), and handles better at highway speeds. Flat-front trailers cost 5 to 10 percent less and fit more cargo against the front wall (no V-shaped dead zone). For most buyers, V-nose is worth the small premium.
Door configuration is where most buyers undersize their needs. Standard rear ramp doors work for ATVs, motorcycles, and rolling cargo. Add a 32 inch or 36 inch side man-door for daily walk-in access without dropping the rear ramp. For motorcycles, a wider 84 inch rear ramp with a beavertail (angled approach) makes loading easier and reduces ramp damage over time.
Floor and wall construction determines longevity. 3/4 inch plywood floor with sealed seams is the standard. Aluminum floor in higher-end aluminum trailers (ATC) lasts longer in salt environments but adds cost. Wall finish (smooth aluminum vs textured ATP vs painted plywood) affects ease of cleaning and resistance to interior damage from cargo shifting. For contractors hauling tools and gear daily, smooth aluminum interiors clean faster and resist tool dings.
GVWR vs cargo capacity: A 7x14 cargo trailer with 7,000 lb GVWR has roughly 3,500 to 4,500 pounds of cargo capacity once you subtract the trailer curb weight. Always check the cargo capacity number, not just the GVWR.
We carry 7 manufacturer lines across cargo configurations from light-duty utility to heavy-duty contractor.

Use cases that drive most cargo trailer purchases.
Single-use buyers and frequent movers benefit from owning vs renting. A 7x14 V-nose handles a 1 to 2 bedroom apartment. A 8.5x20 handles a 3 to 4 bedroom house. Owning pays back over 3 to 4 moves vs renting.
Daily-use cargo trailers as mobile workshops. Internal shelving, electrical packages, and finished interiors. 7x14 to 8.5x20 range. Lockable storage protects tool inventory worth $20K to $80K from theft on job sites.
Single-bike to triple-bike trailers (5x10 to 7x16). Wider rear ramps, tie-down points, and sometimes a wheel chock built in. V-nose is preferred for highway-speed stability.
Specialty snowmobile cargo trailers (Nitro, Formula). Cold-weather features, reinforced ramps, and 1 to 4 sled capacity. Common in the 7.5x16 to 7.5x22 range.
ATC and similar premium aluminum cargo trailers used as mobile command centers, food service, or job-site offices. Electrical packages, insulation, and HVAC available as add-ons.
Vendors hauling display equipment, product inventory, and tents. V-nose for aerodynamics on long hauls. Often spec'd with side man-doors for fast access at events.

V-nose adds 18 to 24 inches of usable length, handles better at highway speeds, and improves aerodynamics (modest fuel savings). Flat-front costs less and maximizes wall-against-cargo space at the front. For long-distance towing or daily use, V-nose is worth the small premium.
For motorcycle hauling: 5x10 to 6x12. For ATV/UTV: 7x14 to 7x16 with 7 foot height. For moving (1 to 2 BR): 7x14. For moving (3 to 4 BR): 8.5x20 or 8.5x24. For contractor tools: 7x14 to 7x16. Tell us what you haul and your tow vehicle, we will spec it.
Most cargo trailers come with optional electrical packages (interior lights, power outlets, exterior lights, battery box). Internal shelving and finished interiors are common upgrades on contractor packages. We can spec these at order time.

Yes. Standard 3/4 inch plywood floor handles motorcycles and ATVs without reinforcement. For heavy ATVs (700+ lbs) or daily use, ask us to spec a reinforced floor option at order time.
Yes. Standard cam locks come on rear ramp doors and side doors. For high-value cargo (contractor tool inventory, motorcycles), upgrade to puck locks or hidden hasp locks at order time. Most insurance carriers prefer puck-lock setups for theft coverage.
