Why power-up gravity-down instead of full hydraulic both directions?
Power-up gravity-down uses gravity to retract the cylinder, which means a smaller pump and less hydraulic fluid (and lower cost). Full power-up power-down adds about 800 to 1,200 dollars to the price for the second-direction control. For 95 percent of dump trailer use cases, gravity-down is fine since the bed always returns to flat empty.
