Single Ram vs Scissor on a 6×12 Dump
For a 6×12 dump, single ram is the practical choice. The 6-foot-wide bed is short enough that even-bed lift (which scissor provides) does not matter much: a 12-foot bed unloads cleanly with single-ram tilt. Single ram is simpler, cheaper to maintain, and uses fewer hydraulic components. Scissor on a 6×12 would add 1,500-2,000 dollars to the price for marginal benefit at this size.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why pick a 6×12 CAM over a 6×12 BWise or Big Tex?
CAM’s integrated tarp shroud and steel pump box are upgrades over the basic spec at this size. CAM also includes EZ Lube hubs (worth roughly 200 dollars) and diamond plate fenders. For buyers who want commercial-grade fittings at the residential size, CAM is the upgrade tier.
What does EZ Lube mean?
EZ Lube hubs have a built-in zerk fitting that lets you grease the wheel bearings without pulling the hub. Saves about 30 minutes per axle service interval, useful for fleet operators who service their own trailers.
Power up + power down on a 6×12 dump?
This CAM 6×12 has full power both directions, which is unusual at this size class (most 6×12 dumps are power-up gravity-down). Useful for partial dumps and controlled bed return, especially when emptying near a structure or person.
