Telescopic Lift vs Scissor or Single-Cylinder
The front telescopic lift is the third common dump cylinder configuration. Scissor lifts use 2 hydraulic cylinders mounted in a folding-arm assembly under the bed. Single-cylinder telescopic uses one multi-stage cylinder at the front of the bed. The telescopic on this CAM Superline low profile dump trailer reaches a 50-55 degree dump angle in a smaller cylinder package, which means more under-bed clearance for storage tray accessibility and lower overall trailer height. Trade-off: telescopic loads concentrated weight at the front of the bed during dump, so distributing loads evenly during loading matters.
Why Buy a Leftover 2024?
Leftover 2024 inventory means brand-new, never-titled, never-used trailers built in 2024 model year. Identical to current 2025 specs in 99 percent of build details. Pricing typically runs 5-10 percent below current model year. The minor catch: CAM’s leftover policy excludes paint warranty (still covers structural and component warranties). For working contractors who add scuff marks within the first month anyway, the paint exclusion is irrelevant.
What Can You Haul?
- 2.5 yards of crushed stone or 4 yards of mulch
- Loaded mid-frame skid steer with 2 attachments
- 9,000 lb of asphalt millings or RAP

Frequently Asked Questions
Is leftover the same as used?
No. Leftover means brand-new inventory from a previous model year, never titled or used. Has full structural and component warranties (just not paint warranty per CAM’s policy). Different from used (titled previously, has hours/miles of operation).
Telescopic vs scissor on a 14-foot dump?
Telescopic is simpler (one cylinder vs two), reaches similar dump angles (50-60 degrees), and frees up under-bed space. Scissor is even-bed lift but takes up more under-bed real estate. Both work for typical contractor use; telescopic edges ahead for buyers wanting under-bed storage.
How does the 14LP telescopic compare to Big Tex 14LP scissor?
Both 14K GVWR, both 7000 lb dual axles. CAM 14LP telescopic is 200 lb heavier empty (4,380 vs 4,180 lb) so slightly less payload. CAM has integrated tarp shroud and under-bed storage; Big Tex has spare tire mount and stabilizer jacks. Both are commercial-grade builds.
