Why the 14-Foot Length?
The 14-foot bed is the contractor sweet spot. Long enough to fit a tracked skid steer plus 2 attachments without overhang, short enough to maneuver in commercial driveways and small jobsites. For landscape and snow operations, a 14-foot bed also holds 3-4 yards of mulch comfortably (more than the 12-ft, less than the 16-ft).
What Can You Haul?
- 2.5 yards of crushed stone or 4 yards of mulch
- Loaded skid steer plus pallet forks plus a bucket
- Standard 12-foot landscape timbers (with a 24-inch overhang allowance)
- 9,000 lb of asphalt millings for paving prep
- Demolition debris from full kitchen and bathroom remodel

Frequently Asked Questions
How does this differ from the 14LX channel frame?
The 14LP uses a tube frame, the 14LX uses a channel frame which is lighter (saves about 500 lb empty weight, gains that much in payload). The 14LX is also slightly shorter in available bed length options. Same 14,000 lb GVWR on both. For maximum payload, the 14LX wins; for slightly heavier-spec construction, the 14LP wins.
Is the spare tire useful?
For long-haul work or remote jobsites, yes. For local landscape work where you can call AAA, less critical but worth having.
What dump angle does this scissor reach?
Approximately 55-60 degrees. Higher than single-cylinder (45 degrees), enough to clear wet sticky materials in one cycle.
